Manage Time As If It Were A Currency
I’m sure you’ve heard of the expression “TIME IS MONEY”. It’s true, and very few people who understand money will argue with that. So if you agree that time is in fact money, then you will also agree that time is also a currency. It reminds me of the movie In Time with Justin Timberlake where the whole world had a unified currency and people traded goods and services for time! Of course that’s just a movie, but the reality is that everyday you have to spend a measured value of 24 of this currency on various things: eating, sleeping, working, spending time with others, taking a shower, etc. It’s a fixed amount and you MUST spend that exact amount every day. So in order to fit in a workout, you need to spend about 2 of this currency on working out (which includes driving to the gym, exercising, showering, and driving away).
Just like if you were to managing money, you want to look at how your budgeted time of 24 is being spent. The best place to start is with a log in order to be able to track how much time you spend on various things throughout the day. The only way you are going to find time to exercise is to manage your time by looking at where it’s being spent. Time is the only currency that is set for everyone on a daily basis. You can’t have more, or less time. but you can allocate spending it towards what you want.
