Having Trouble Losing Fat? Try This.
As a personal trainer in Mississauga, I want to show you that having a good diet is easy! Follow this strategy and you will find how quickly you start to eat better within about 2 weeks.
Step 1: A great place to start is to write down everything you eat and drink for the next week. You can use an App such as www.myfitnesspal.com, use the notepad on your phone, or use good old fashion pen and paper. Do this during a typical week so that you can get a clear idea as to what you normally eat.
Step 2: Using the recorded data from your food log, pick one or two things from the list below that you can change that will lead you in the right direction.
- Reduce sugary foods
- Replace high carbohydrate junk foods with low carbohydrate alternatives
- Eat more healthy fats
- Reduce portion size of carbohydrates
- Drink more water
- Increase lean protein intake
- Reduce alcohol consumption
- Increase fiber intake
- Eat more leafy green vegetables
- Remove wheat based foods from your breakfast
- Take your multivitamin and fish oil daily
- Have small snacks and meals around lean sources of protein, healthy fats, and fibrous vegetables
Step 3: Implement the changes from Steps 2 , and keep another food log for a week or two. This way, once again, you know exactly what’s going on.
Step 4: Repeat Step 2 and 3 until you eliminate most of the issues in your diet.
Nutrition can be simple, if we allow it to be. It doesn’t have to be a stressful all (eat “perfectly” all the time) or nothing (slip up and then continue to make poor choices because you “screwed up anyway”) mentality.
